If your first journey to Indonesia should be bigger than a beach holiday, this is the one. Created for active couples, honeymooners and culturally curious travellers, Indonesia Highlights: In Full Colour brings together Java, Bali and Komodo in one exhilarating 14-day journey. You will stand before ancient temples, watch daylight reach volcanic calderas, cross between islands by ferry and finish aboard a premium small yacht in the wild seas of Komodo. It is Indonesia in all its contrasts—sacred, untamed, beautiful and completely unforgettable.

Begin near Borobudur, where specialist interpretation brings Java’s sacred landscape vividly to life. From the carved terraces of Borobudur to the soaring Hindu towers of Prambanan, history becomes the opening chapter of your journey. Then the landscape takes over with two unforgettable pre-dawn adventures at Mount Bromo and Kawah Ijen.

Crossing into Bali reveals coral reefs, mountain waterfalls and a quieter rhythm of island life. Snorkel or dive at Menjangan, travel through the cool Munduk highlands and slow down among Sidemen’s rice fields, village traditions and warm hospitality. Besakih, the Batur caldera and a carefully hosted water-temple experience complete the story.

The finale belongs to Komodo. Spend three nights aboard a premium small yacht, waking beneath rugged island peaks and sailing between ranger-led wildlife experiences, remote beaches and condition-led marine encounters. This is an energetic journey, balanced by restorative time in Sidemen and the freedom of life at sea—fourteen remarkable days that reveal just how extraordinary Indonesia can be.

What Makes This Journey Exceptional
  • A Complete Journey Arc — Move from Java's sacred stone and volcanic east through Bali's reef, highlands and living villages before leaving the road behind for three nights in Komodo.
  • High-Demand Experience Included — Three nights aboard a vetted premium small yacht give Komodo the time and flexibility that a rushed day trip cannot provide.
  • Signature Rich Hippy Moment — Somewhere between the last green folds of Bali and Komodo's open water, a quietly arranged pause lets the scale of the journey settle into view.
  • Complementary Perspective — Temple scholarship and community hosting are balanced by volcano paths, coral walls, island viewpoints and condition-led wildlife encounters.
  • Exclusive & Elevated — Private land transport, specialist interpretation, a private Menjangan boat and a tightly coordinated flight-to-yacht handover keep complex logistics out of sight.
  • The Rich Hippy Way — Private, curated and hosted, with optional upgrades arranged around guest ability, live conditions and the recovery time that protects the route.
Itinerary

Welcome to Indonesia. We arrange your private welcome at Yogyakarta International Airport and the onward drive to an especially selected stay in the Borobudur or Yogyakarta area. The first day remains deliberately free of fixed sightseeing, allowing time to settle in and recover.

Borobudur is arranged for the best confirmed visitor slot, with a licensed local expert and the level of monument access permitted on the day. The temple's reliefs and Buddhist cosmology are placed within the wider pilgrimage landscape rather than treated as an isolated monument.

Brief visits to Pawon and Mendut complete that sequence before a proper lunch and rest period. Later, your driver takes you to Prambanan for clear historical interpretation in the softer part of the day. Plaosan remains optional only when timing, light and energy support it.

Overnight: Borobudur/Yogyakarta Area

Hosted Group: A comfortable, group-friendly stay with quiet surroundings and convenient access to Borobudur.
Classic: A character-led boutique stay combining local atmosphere, comfort and easy access to the temples.
Signature: A refined, landscape-led retreat with upgraded accommodation and a strong sense of place.
Icon: One of the region’s most exceptional stays, selected for its setting, privacy and elevated service.

Travel east across Java by the best available daytime rail or air routing for the confirmed departure date, selected for comfort and to protect the Bromo programme. Your private driver meets the confirmed arrival and continues into the highlands, where an early dinner and mountain briefing prepare you for the pre-dawn start.

Before dawn, an authorised local jeep is waiting for the Bromo landscape. The viewpoint is selected against current access, weather and crowd conditions. Continue across the caldera and towards the permitted crater approach when conditions and your ability allow, then travel east towards Ijen or Banyuwangi.

The Ijen programme begins before dawn when official access, health requirements, weather and volcanic conditions allow. The crater rim at morning light is the core experience; blue-flame access is never promised. After breakfast, we arrange the private transfer to Ketapang, the ferry crossing to Gilimanuk and the onward drive to a quiet coastal stay in West Bali.

Overnight: Bromo · Ijen/Banyuwangi · Pemuteran

Hosted Group: A sequence of dependable stays selected for group comfort, early-start readiness and efficient journey logistics.
Classic: Comfortable, characterful accommodation chosen for strong locations and a sense of place throughout the route.
Signature: The best available upgraded rooms, prioritising comfort, setting and recovery between active days.
Icon: The strongest accommodation available in each location, elevated through the best room categories and enhanced private arrangements.

Your driver takes you to the confirmed embarkation point for a private Menjangan boat. Qualified marine guides select the day's coral walls, shallows and sheltered sites according to sea conditions and guest ability, with properly supervised pathways for snorkellers and certified divers. After returning to the mainland, continue into Munduk's cooler highlands.

Begin the following day with a waterfall and plantation walk adjusted to the weather, trail and your ability. Continue to Pura Ulun Danu Bratan, where your local expert explains the temple's place within Bali's water and belief systems, before the cross-island drive to Sidemen. The evening remains open at the retreat.

Overnight: Munduk · Sidemen

Hosted Group: Welcoming, group-friendly stays with dependable service and convenient access to the surrounding landscapes.
Classic: Character-led accommodation reflecting Munduk’s highlands and Sidemen’s peaceful rice-field setting.
Signature: Refined landscape retreats with upgraded rooms, privacy and restorative surroundings.
Icon: Exceptional valley or rice-field accommodation with the finest available room category and highly personalised service.

A trusted local host introduces Sidemen through its village paths, rice landscape and the genuine seasonal work taking place on the day. The experience is community-hosted and never staged around a school visit or contrived farming demonstration.

One carefully chosen cultural element may focus on weaving, silverwork, offering-making, music or a hosted compound visit. A Balinese cooking experience and shared lunch, or another strong meal-led local experience, follows in the confirmed format.

The later afternoon is yours for the pool, spa or private time. A short arak-maker visit is optional only where the host relationship, hygiene and responsible tasting arrangements are suitable.

Overnight: Sidemen

Hosted Group: A welcoming landscape stay with comfortable shared spaces, a pool and easy access to local experiences.
Classic: A peaceful boutique retreat surrounded by Sidemen’s rice fields and village landscapes.
Signature: A refined landscape retreat offering privacy, excellent dining and an upgraded room or villa.
Icon: An exceptional private-pool villa or best-in-destination retreat with commanding views and personalised service.

An early private departure brings you to Besakih before the day builds, where a knowledgeable local expert explains temple function, etiquette and ceremonial context under the access arrangements in force.

Continue to Kintamani for the Batur caldera view and lunch. This is a landscape stop rather than a summit hike.

Later, Pura Mengening or another approved quieter water temple provides an appropriately hosted purification experience. Your driver then takes you to an operationally convenient premium hotel in South Bali, with no evening touring commitment.

Overnight: South Bali

Hosted Group: A comfortable, operationally convenient stay with reliable airport access and group-friendly facilities.
Classic: A polished premium hotel selected for sleep quality, comfort and an effortless onward journey.
Signature: An elevated South Bali stay with an upgraded room and refined service.
Icon: A high-end private or resort setting combining exceptional comfort with seamless airport access.

Your private driver takes you to the airport for the most operationally reliable suitable nonstop flight to Labuan Bajo. A private harbour transfer is waiting on arrival. Step aboard a vetted premium small yacht for cabin orientation, a full safety briefing and the first night at anchor.

The captain and park arrangements determine whether Rinca or Komodo provides the authorised ranger-led visitor experience. On shore, every movement follows ranger instructions and the animals set the terms of the encounter. Condition-led reef, beach or island time follows, with wildlife sightings never promised.

Padar's viewpoint is approached at the most suitable permitted time, adjusted for heat, crowds and the vessel's safe route. Beach and reef time follows at sites selected for currents, sea state and guest ability. A manta programme may be attempted where appropriate, but sightings are never promised.

Overnight: Komodo Yacht

Hosted Group: A quality air-conditioned cabin aboard a vetted small yacht arranged for the hosted group journey.
Classic: An en-suite, air-conditioned cabin aboard a premium small yacht with professional crew and full-board service.
Signature: An upgraded cabin or suite aboard a high-specification yacht with enhanced comfort and service.
Icon: A private premium yacht charter with the best available accommodation, personalised routing and elevated onboard service.

Disembark in Labuan Bajo and continue by private transfer to the airport for the confirmed flight back to Bali. A private driver meets you on arrival and takes you to a premium South Bali property chosen as a soft landing and as essential protection before the international departure.

Uluwatu sunset may be offered only when the flight lands with a comfortable operational margin. There is no same-day international connection.

Breakfast is unhurried on the final morning. Your private driver takes you to Ngurah Rai International Airport with the collection time set around the confirmed terminal and airline guidance. No sightseeing is fixed on departure day.

Overnight: South Bali

Hosted Group: A comfortable final stay with group-friendly facilities and reliable access to the airport.
Classic: A premium South Bali property offering atmosphere, comfort and an easy final transfer.
Signature: A refined resort or boutique retreat with an upgraded room and a restorative final-night setting.
Icon: An exceptional Bukit Peninsula or equivalent stay with the finest available accommodation and personalised service.
