Itinerary

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you’ll be greeted by our VIP ground team and transferred to a boutique hotel in Entebbe. Enjoy a gentle introduction to the Pearl of Africa with a slow dinner, a lakeside breeze, and a night to ground before your forest pilgrimage begins.

Depending on your international arrival time, you’ll either overnight in Entebbe or connect directly to Bwindi via scenic bush flight. We’ll tailor this based on your flight schedule and comfort preferences.

The Impenetrable Forest is your retreat to nature. Touch down in the timeless presence of Bwindi. After a warm welcome and private transfer, check in to your forest lodge nestled at the edge of the canopy. The evening unfolds slowly —get to know your host and the experts by the fire, receive a special welcome from Batwa elders, and breathe the scent of wild herbs in the air. The mood is reverent but grounding; you’ve arrived not just in a destination, but a different way of being.

The First Gorilla Trek is an immersive guided expedition through the lush rainforest and rugged mountain slopes of Bwindi National Park, where you will witness the natural habitat of the critically endangered mountain gorillas. Your journey into the rainforest commences at dawn, guided by seasoned trackers who will lead you through dense jungle terrain until you encounter one of Bwindi’s habituated gorilla families. The hour you spend in their presence is an unforgettable experience, during which you will establish eye contact, share the space, and foster a profound sense of understanding. This is not merely wildlife observation; it is a communion with nature.

The Gorilla Habituation Experience is not just another encounter, its an invitation to observe different, slow down and stay longer in the presence of our closest wild kin. You’ll spend up to four hours observing a semi-habituated group of gorillas with researchers and rangers. You’ll witness not only the gorillas themselves but the intricate process of building trust between humans and the wild. A bush lunch with your guides mid-forest adds to the depth. You will experience a profound sense of privilege and belonging to a significant and meaningful community.

Life in the Forest begins at a slower pace — more intimate and participatory. There is space to rest, reflect, journal, or simply sit with the sounds of the forest.

You’ll step into the forest with Batwa elders — the original guardians of this land, who once lived here as hunter-gatherers. A guided walk along lesser-trekked trails invites you to tune into the subtle life of the jungle: colobus monkeys in the canopy, duikers slipping silently between the shadows, and African green broadbills fluting their delicate songs above, adding to the layered soundscape of the forest.

Along the way, you’ll learn about medicinal plants, forest survival skills, and spiritual beliefs rooted in deep relationship with the land. You may try your hand at weaving baskets or preparing traditional foods alongside your hosts. Slowly, the forest shifts in your perception — no longer a backdrop, but an archive, a teacher, an ancestor.

As dusk falls, the lodge prepares a campfire circle beneath the stars. A conservationist and a Batwa storyteller join you to share the ancient and modern lore of Bwindi — stories of silverbacks, forest spirits, survival, and kinship. Around the fire, something timeless rises.

Primal Presence, is about attuning yourself to the language of the forest. You’ll begin with a slow forest bathing experience — walking mindfully, breathing deeply, and letting the natural world settle into your nervous system. A forest guide will help you awaken your senses to the unseen and unheard, tuning in to birdsong, broken branches, and subtle shifts in the landscape.

You’ll then learn traditional and modern wildlife tracking techniques, following signs like prints, dung, and feeding trails. As dusk approaches, you’ll help position motion-sensitive wilderness cameras in key areas, used by researchers to observe gorilla movement at night. It’s real conservation in action — and a quiet thrill knowing you’re now part of the forest’s ongoing story.

Legacy of the Forest is your final day where you go beyond the visible. Devoted to connection, to people, to purpose and to the future of Bwindi. You’ll begin by joining conservation teams in the field, learning about gorilla health monitoring, GPS tracking, and the invisible networks keeping this ecosystem alive. This behind-the-scenes access pulls back the curtain on the extraordinary effort required to protect the mountain gorilla.

This is conservation in real time a bit messy but very noble and vital. You’ll leave with a deeper appreciation for the people behind the preservation and the complexity of protecting a fragile ecosystem. Later, you’ll meet the Gorilla Guardians, whose stories of transformation are as moving as the forest itself. Together, you’ll plant a native tree, a living symbol of regeneration and reciprocity.

A light breakfast and a final moment of forest stillness before your private bush flight to Entebbe. You leave carrying something more than memories — an imprint, a bond, a call to return.
